Jodee Stanley

Jodee Stanley is the editor of Ninth Letter, the award-winning literary/arts journal published by UIUC's MFA in Creative Writing Program in collaboration with the School of Art and Design. Jodee supervises the literary publishing practicum in the graduate creative writing program, where graduate students receive hands-on experience in editing and producing a literary journal. She received a 2007 Faculty Fellowship from the University of Illinois Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership, and has given presentations on literary publishing at such venues as the Kenyon Review Literary Festival, Bread Loaf Writers Conference, the Grub Street Writers Conference, the AWP annual conference, the MLA annual conference, Stanford University, and elsewhere.

Jodee received her MFA in creative writing from Emerson College and has served on the editorial staffs of the Missouri Review, Ploughshares, and New England Review, where she was the managing editor for seven years. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Crab Orchard Review, Mississippi Review, Hobart, The Smoking Poet, 580 Split, Margin, North Atlantic Review, Sycamore Review, Sou'wester, Beacon Street Review, and Electric Velocipede, and have received special mention in the 2004 Year's Best Fantasy and Horror and the 2001 Pushcart Prize. Her book reviews have appeared in The Cincinnati Review, Future Fire, BkMk Quarterly, Ploughshares, and the Missouri Review.
